Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents after the town in which she grew in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder believes she is Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder turned seven. In those days, there were no electric lights. Ryder became an avid book reader because there was no television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the movie Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Her performing career, she thought that it would aid her. It didn't turn out. But she continued to pursue her dream. Her breakthrough came in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder played parts that proved successful in various films. In 1993, she was nominated twice in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
